Here are a few pictures from our trip.
Here are Casey and I at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport waiting for our (delayed) flight to Pierre. We were both very good on the flights... but still a little exhausting for mom!
Case pretty much went straight to bed when we got to Gettysburg but he did spend a little time playing with his cousins. Here he is with Kennedy on the couch.
Karen bought Casey a chair to sit in for meals. It worked great as a bath seat too!
One morning, Karen pulled out the playdoh! Man, that was fun!
Casey sure loved Karen!
Casey borrowed the twins' high chairs one time too.
Reagan was able to bring me to school for lunch one day. I had so much fun!
The weather was great while we were there. We even took a walk to the Mini-Mall. It was quite an adventure.
There was lots of snow and puddles for me to play in.
Mommy just loves Gettysburg so she took a picture of the town and water tower in the background.
Here is Casey at his first time in the Mini-Mall.
Here are Reagan and I enjoying smoothies.
Harrison lost his sunglasses so Reagan and I hung out waiting for Karen to find them!
We went for another walk that day... it was a little too windy for Casey so mommy had to take him home. Karen was brave enough to continue the walk with the other 5 of us!!! Thanks, Karen!
And we ate...
Mommy wishes she had more pictures but things were a little crazy with 6 kids! The trip home was uneventful. I was so excited to see daddy!
Unfortunately, Casey was a little sick when we returned from our fun! He woke up on Sunday morning with a fever of 103.5. It went right down with a little ibuprofen. The fever was up and down the next few days. Mommy ended up with a tick on her Tuesday. Daddy had her take it into Papa's office to get examined for Limes Disease. While she was there, she had Casey looked out. Turns out, he has an ear infection. While there, they went ahead and did his 8 month check up (2 weeks early). Here are his stats: 15lbs, 4 oz (5%) and 27 inches tall (25%). Other than the ear infection, he was looking good.
That afternoon, I had a play date with my friends who are twins. While there, mommy noticed that Casey was feeling a little warm. On the way home, his breathing sounded a little funny. She took his temperature when she got home, it was 105.8! Mommy was on her way to the hospital when daddy talked to Papa and he was on his way over. The fever came down a few hours later and he seemed to be doing much better. He has been on antibiotics for 3 days now and we are hoping he is on the mend. The fever keeps coming back but think that is just his body's attempt to fight the infection.
Assuming Casey is okay tomorrow, we are finally going to get to spend the night together with Papa and Grandma. I am so excited. I cannot wait to show Casey the ropes! Mommy and daddy are just going to relax. Next week, mommy is going to the hospital to have her procedure to hopefully fix her Wolfe-Parkinson-White Syndrome. It should be a simple procedure. She might have to spend the night but we are hoping that won't be necessary. We are so lucky to have such great support to help take care of us. Auntie Aurora is coming to spend the morning with us on Friday and help me get ready for school. Aunt Mindy and Uncle Mike are going to take me to school that day. Pops and Gams are lending us Christina, who helps them around the house. She is going to take care of Casey and me later in the day. Fingers crossed for mommy that all goes well and she does not have to stay at the hospital overnight.
That is all for now. More soon. Have a great weekend.
